One of my favourites from the second Abbeydale collaboration series - both the beer and the artwork.
The white Dog was a nod the wonderful artwork for Torrside's "Battalion Bull Terrier" which was illustrated by Emma Sidwell. Whilst the Scruffy Border Terrier on the left is my own Dog - Ted.
The overall peice is based on the power of media and television in today's society and how it is slowly taking over everyone's lives, hypnotising us to believe everything that we see - The illustration tries to promote the idea that people should get out in the woods and walk their dogs more, rather than staying in watching TV or forever scrolling on their mobile phones.
The name came about after finding there was raisins in the beer - This illustration was already sketched up and inking was in progress before the name came about, so I added the raisins afterwards. Abbeydale and Torrside were looking for a pun based name to go with the illustration. This was the only one of my working names that was used for a final beer in both series. Did you know that dogs are allergic to raisins?
The piece was sketched in pencil, then inked with Indian ink, scanned and coloured digitally with a Wacom tablet.
